Three Tips for Wine Storage
When you’re storing wine, you need to keep these three key things in mind.
- Store wine at a constant temperature that’s preferably between 55ºF to 75ºF. If it’s colder or warmer, it can damage the quality of the wine. You should select a climate-controlled self-storage unit (not a standard storage unit) for wine storage use.
- Keep wine bottles out of direct sunlight, since UV rays can injure the flavor of the wine. Remember to turn out lights when you leave the wine storage area.
- Turn wine bottles on their sides so that the cork doesn’t dry out (which could allow air into the bottle and spoil the wine). Bring a shelf or wine storage rack into your wine storage unit to make sure they’re stored safely.
