Find RV Storage Near You
RV Parking Spaces and the Sizes We Offer
We rent RV parking spaces in a variety of sizes, so a compact travel trailer isn’t taking up the same footprint as a Class A motorhome. Measure your rig before you call, and measure the whole thing: bumper to bumper, plus the hitch, the spare tire carrier, and any rear ladder or bike rack that sticks out past the body.
Availability changes by facility and by week, because RV spaces turn over more slowly than indoor units do. The manager at each Value Store It location knows which sizes are open on that lot right now, so the location page is the place to confirm a fit before you drive over with the rig behind you.
Value Store It also rents climate controlled indoor units from 25 to 300 square feet, which is where most RV owners put the things that shouldn’t sit in a parked coach all season. Bedding, camp chairs, tools, kitchen gear, and anything with a battery or an adhesive label keep better in a temperature and humidity controlled unit.

Who RV Storage Is For
Most people who rent RV parking do it because home isn’t an option. HOA covenants across South Florida routinely ban recreational vehicles from driveways and front yards, and many municipalities have their own ordinances limiting how long an RV can sit on a residential street or in plain view from one. A storage lot takes the violation notice out of the picture.
Driveway space is the other common reason. A long coach parked at home blocks a garage, crowds the neighbors’ sightlines, and turns every trip out of the driveway into a three-point turn. Owners who use the rig a few weekends a season often decide the daily parking hassle isn’t worth what they get out of it.
Seasonal residents make up a large share of Florida RV storage too. If you head north for the summer and leave the coach behind, or you come down for the winter and need somewhere to park between trips, a monthly space with no long-term contract fits that pattern far better than a year-long commitment does.
If your RV needs a home that doesn’t break a covenant or block your garage, find a Value Store It location with RV parking and ask the manager which space sizes are open.
Covered Versus Uncovered RV Parking
Covered RV parking is available at our Cutler Bay and Wesley Chapel facilities. A canopy takes direct sun off the roof, which is where Florida does the most damage to a parked RV. Roof sealant, rubber membranes, decals, and window gaskets all break down faster under constant UV, and shade slows every part of that process down.
Covered spaces are offered at those two locations only, so if a canopy is a requirement, start there. Ask that facility what’s open before you plan around it, because a covered space is a specific thing and not every lot on this page has one to rent.
Uncovered parking is the standard option at our other RV locations, and it works well when you pair it with your own care routine. A quality fitted RV cover, tire covers, and a roof sealant inspection twice a year give an uncovered rig much of the protection a canopy provides. Summer storm season is the stretch that tests all of it.
Security and Access at Our RV Storage Lots
Every Value Store It location runs state of the art digital security, and RV parking sits inside that same system rather than off to the side of it. Access runs on individualized pin entry, so every entry is tied to a specific tenant instead of a shared code that quietly circulates around the neighborhood.
Access hours run 7 days a week including holidays, 6 AM to 10 PM, with extended hours at some locations. That covers an early Friday departure and a late Sunday return for most trips. Each facility’s page lists its own access hours and office hours, so check the location you’re renting from before you plan a pickup.
Our locations are staffed by trained storage professionals who work that market every day. They know which spaces on their lot are easiest to back into, where the tight turns are, and what the approach looks like for a long fifth wheel or Class A. Ask them before you commit to a space rather than after.
How to Prepare Your RV for Storage
Preparing an RV for storage starts with getting it clean and dry, because Florida humidity turns anything damp into mildew within weeks. Wash and dry the exterior, empty the refrigerator and freezer completely, wipe them out, and prop both doors open. Strip the bedding and towels, and take every scrap of food home, sealed pantry goods included.
Empty and flush the black and gray tanks before you arrive, then leave the valves closed so nothing dries inside the lines. Drain the fresh water tank and the water heater, and blow out or winterize the lines if the rig is going to sit for a long stretch. Standing water is a common source of trouble in a parked RV.
Disconnect the house and chassis batteries and take them home to a maintainer, since a battery left connected in a stored RV will drain itself over a season. Inflate the tires to the pressure on the sidewall, cover them if you can, and move the rig a few feet every month or two so the same patch of rubber isn’t always carrying the weight.
Close off the pest routes last. Seal the gaps around plumbing penetrations, the furnace vent, and the water heater vent, cover the exhaust openings, and leave nothing edible or chewable inside. Then confirm your insurance stays active while the rig is stored and your registration won’t lapse, because a stored RV is easy to forget at renewal time.
What Determines the Monthly Cost of RV Parking
The monthly cost of an RV parking space comes down to four things: the size of the space, whether it’s covered or uncovered, the local market the facility sits in, and what’s actually open on that lot when you ask. A covered space in Wesley Chapel and an uncovered space in North Lauderdale aren’t answering to the same conditions.
Space size does most of the work. A space sized for a small travel trailer and a space sized for a large fifth wheel are different pieces of real estate, and the rate follows the footprint. That’s the reason we ask for real measurements off the rig rather than a rough guess off the top of your head.
RV parking rents month to month with no long-term contract, and you can cancel at any time. Live rates move with availability, so we publish them on each location’s own page instead of here, where a number would go stale within a season. Check the location nearest you for current rates and open space sizes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the average cost of storing an RV?
There’s no single average, because RV parking is priced by the space rather than by the rig. Space size, covered versus uncovered, the local market, and current availability all move the number. Each Value Store It location page shows live rates for the spaces open on that lot today.
Where should you store an RV when it isn’t in use?
A secured storage lot is the usual answer once an HOA covenant or a city ordinance rules out your driveway. Look for controlled access, a space sized with room to maneuver around the rig, and month-to-month terms, so a season away doesn’t lock you into a full year.
Is indoor RV storage available at Value Store It?
We rent outdoor RV parking spaces, with covered parking at our Cutler Bay and Wesley Chapel facilities. We don’t park RVs inside our buildings. Our indoor climate controlled units, from 25 to 300 square feet, are a good fit for the gear, bedding, and tools that come out of the rig.
What size RV parking space do you need?
Measure the rig bumper to bumper, then add the hitch, the spare tire carrier, and anything mounted off the back like a ladder or a bike rack. Bring that number to the location. We offer RV parking spaces in a variety of sizes, and the manager can match yours to what’s open.
Can you cancel RV storage at any time?
Yes. RV parking at Value Store It is a monthly fee with no long-term contract, and you can cancel at any time. That suits seasonal owners who store the rig for part of the year and pull it back out of the lot as soon as the weather turns.
